Bryan Fok
Research Assistant
Bryan Fok is a junior studying global affairs and history with a minor in Italian. He has a range of research interests including environmental policy, global health, and modern Italian history. Through the Kellogg International Scholars Program, he is currently working with Professor Drew Marcantonio conducting research on environmental provisions in formal peace agreements. More specifically, Bryan is conducting a systematic literature review of the topic, with an emphasis on intrastate peace agreements. Previously, Bryan has worked as a research assistant for Provost John T. McGreevy verifying sources in the book Catholicism: A Global History from the French Revolution to Pope Francis. Bryan has also worked with Prof. Charles Leavitt examining Italian perceptions of African American soldiers stationed in Italy in the immediate aftermath of World War II.
During the summer of 2023, Bryan participated in the Serving (in) Europe service-learning program funded by the Nanovic Institute where he spent two months in Milan, Italy working with refugees and other marginalized groups. He was also a Diplomacy Scholar in the spring of 2023. He is the president of the Outing Club of Notre Dame and a member of the Quizbowl Team that competed in the 2022 Intercollegiate Championship Tournament.
